The moon of the holy month of Shawwal has been sighted in Saudi Arabia. As a result, the month of Ramadan of 1446 Hijri is ending in 29 days in the country. The Saudis will celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday.
Information on the moon sighting in Saudi Arabia has been reported on the Facebook page of Insight the Haramain.
According to the Arabic calendar, Ramadan is the ninth month and Shawwal is the tenth. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal.
Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee has been called on Sunday, to sight the moon of the holy month of Shawwal of 1446 Hijri and determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs said the meeting will be held at 6:30 pm in the meeting room of the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram in the capital. Religious Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain will be present at the meeting. When Eid will be celebrated in Bangladesh will be announced in this meeting.
