The court has ordered to seize 28 bighas of land and freeze 19 bank accounts of Arifa Jasmine, wife of former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak.
At the same time, she has been banned from leaving the country.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed this order on Tuesday in view of two separate applications filed by the ACC.
The application states that there is a possibility of handing over, transferring, executing documents or changing ownership or transferring the immovable and movable assets acquired in the name of Arifa Jasmine. In the interest of a fair investigation, it is necessary to seize the immovable assets and freeze the movable assets. It is imperative to issue an order prohibiting Arifa Jasmine from traveling abroad in the interest of a fair investigation of the case.
Earlier, on December 12, the ACC filed a case against Palak and his wife Arifa.
