Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has stated that Bangladesh is now stronger, more enthusiastic, and more creative than ever before.
He made the remark on Thursday afternoon after handing over the “Ekushey Padak” to 18 distinguished individuals and groups.
"I am overwhelmed and speechless," expressed the chief adviser at the event. "We are all delighted to honour the country’s finest talents. The women's football team has brought us immense pride, and we are grateful to them."
He continued, "On August 5 last year, through the student-led uprising, we achieved a new Bangladesh. This has opened up opportunities to build a new nation."
Dr. Yunus cited February 21 as a symbol of self-identity. "In February 1952, students stood up against the unjust decision imposed by the Pakistani rulers regarding the state language. They established Bengali as the official language by shedding their blood on the streets of Dhaka.”
“The Language Movement sparked an incredible awakening of our rights," he added.
The chief adviser further added, "We are now stronger, more enterprising, and more creative than at any time in the past. Our younger generation’s dreams are bolder than ever before. They not only aspire to build a new Bangladesh but also envision creating a new world with the same confidence.”
