A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued a travel ban on former Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, his wife Kashmiri Kamal, and his daughters -- Kashfi Kamal and Nafisa Kamal.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order based on a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
In the plea, ACC investigating officer Md Nurul Huda said there is an ongoing investigation into allegations of illegal wealth accumulation against Mustafa Kamal, his wife, and his daughters. There is credible information that the accused might flee the country, and a travel ban is essential to ensure a fair investigation.
After the hearing, the court imposed the travel ban on Mustafa Kamal, his wife, and two daughters.
