JSD President ASM Abdur Rab has commented that Sheikh Hasina and Awami League are involved in serious human rights violations and are proven criminals according to the UN Human Rights Office's fact-finding report on the student-public protests in Bangladesh.
“The moral and legal right of the Awami League leaders involved in the horrific and stigmatized genocide of history to do politics has been exhausted,” he said.
ASM Rob said this in a statement sent to the media on Thursday.
The JSD leader said, “Sheikh Hasina's politics has ended after being involved in serious human rights violations which were proven in front of world humanity. In the interest of occupying illegal power, it will no longer be fair for Sheikh Hasina to utter the word about the politics of the country. The timely step of the state is to ensure the maximum punishment through trial of those who ordered and approved the indiscriminate brutal killing of the people of the country. Now Sheikh Hasina should avoid all kinds of pitfalls, return from India and face trial. There is no other option but to be loyal to the truth.”
“In the context of the change in the direction of the entire nation through the mass uprising of students and the public, the politics of the Awami League as a criminal for the crime of the 24' genocide has also become unacceptable. Because, a significant number of Awami League leaders, MPs and ministers participated in the genocide, a large part took the role of perpretrators and many provided deliberate support. The moral and legal right of the Awami League leaders involved in the horrific and stigmatized genocide of history to do politics has been exhausted,” he said.
