Former joint secretary general of BNP Professor Lion Aslam Chowdhury said, ‘For last 15 years, Awami League (AL) government has continuously been in power and has created division and degradation in society. It has abused its power by destroying the social structure to achieve its mean political objectives and set its incompetent people to responsible positions in the society. It has tortured people through verbal abuse and assault and filing fake cases. Now, to keep social bonds strong, everyone must unite and cultivate a positive outlook.”
He said this at the 74th founding anniversary program of the New Manchurabad Social Welfare Council in Chittagong city on Friday night.
Former Social Welfare Council President Ayub Khan presided over the event, which was conducted by Md. Solaiman.
