President of Gono Odhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nur said, “The elections will be held by December; so the people of the country are ready for change. The people of this country want to welcome youth leadership.”
“The old style of politics like Awami League will not continue, learn from Awami League. Despite being such a big party, they have fled to India across the border without eating rice and wearing lungis and gamchas,” he said.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on politics at the Sonargaon Municipality Ground in Narayanganj on Saturday.
Addressing the interim government, Nurul Haque Nur said, “Today, there is a question in the public mind about the effective role of law enforcement. You have taken a stand against the people by increasing the price of goods in the market and the duty on basic goods of the country. You have to withdraw from this anti-people position. Otherwise you will be disoriented by the anger of the people.'
Addressing the leaders and activists of Awami League, he said, “Your leaders have fled the country without lungis and gamchas. Should you distribute leaflets now and go on strike! Go out on the streets and see that the people, regardless of party affiliation, will resist you with a strong hand.”
The event was chaired by Wahidur Rahman Milki, vice president of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, and moderated by AKM Saiduzzaman, member secretary of the District Gono Odhikar Parishad, and Md. Mohibullah, general secretary of the District Chatra Odhikar Parishad. The main discussant was Faruk Hasan, spokesperson and senior vice president of the Central Committee of the Gono Odhikar Parishad.
