The ministry of home affairs has imposed a travel ban on 20 former and incumbent police-army officers for their alleged involvement in the enforced disappearances.
The ministry also asked to suspend their passports.
On Sunday, the security service division of the ministry sent letters to the department of immigration and passports and special branch (SB) of police force to take necessary actions in this regard.
The officers are former DG of RAB Mokhlesur Rahman, ex-IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, ex-IGP Benazir Ahmed, ex-DG of NTMC and sacked Major General Ziaul Ahsan, Col Tofael Mostafa Sarwar, former CO of RAB-7 Lt Col Mifat Uddin Ahmed, ex-chief of RAB Intelligence Lt Col Mahbub Alam, Ex-CO of RAB-4 Lutful Kabir, ex-CO of RAB-10 Shabuddin Khan, former CO of RAB-11 Lt Col Kamrul Hasan, ex-director (Legal and Media) of RAB and ex-CO of RAB-1 Lt Col Sarwar bin Kashem, ex-SB chief Monirul Islam, former DMP DB chief Harun Or Rashid, former CTTC chief Md. Asaduzzaman, former Addl DIG Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan, former DB DC Mashiur Rahman,ex-CTTC ADC Tawhidul Islam, former DGFI Directors Brig Gen (Retd) Abu Taher Mohammad Ibrahim, Major Gen (Retd) Tawhid-ul-Islam and Brig Gen Mahbubur Rahman Siddiqui.
The initiatives have been asked to do following the request of the inquiry commission on the enforced disappearance.
