A recent survey by Voice of America (VOA) Bangla revealed that 41.3 percent of Bangladeshis expressed a dislike for India as a country, while 53.6 percent showed a favourable opinion towards it.
The survey also highlighted that both India and Pakistan maintain positive images in Bangladesh, with citizens holding good perceptions of other development partner countries as well.
Out of 1,000 respondents, 59 percent liked Pakistan, while 53.6 percent favoured India. However, a significant difference was observed on the "dislike" scale: 28.5 percent of respondents disliked Pakistan, whereas 41.3 percent expressed a dislike for India.
Myanmar emerged as the most disliked neighbour among Bangladeshis. It scored 59.1 percent on the dislike scale, with only 24.5 percent favouring it.
Among other countries, the United States scored the highest on the "like" scale with 68.4%, followed closely by China (66%), Russia (64%), and the United Kingdom (62.7%).
