The Police Reforms Commission will recommend removing political consideration in police verification process. In this case NID card will be the standard for verifying anyone.
Police Reforms Commission head Safar Raj Hossain informed the matter to the journalists on Monday after the first meeting of the commission held at the office of home adviser in the secretariat in the capital.
The chairman of the commission said, "It will be recommended that the police can arrest and remand by following the instructions of the High Court. However, the recommendation has not been finalized yet.”
He also said that the government will take initiatives to implement the recommendations. Amendment of section 54 will also be recommended.
Police Reform Commission was formed under the leadership of former Home Secretary Safar Raj Hossain on October 3.
