The government has directed Mohammed Kamrul Islam, Counsellor (Labour Wing) at the Bangladesh Mission in Geneva, to return home following an incident of harassment involving Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, reports UNB.
According to a source at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Kamrul Islam has been stand released from his duties after failing to intervene during the harassment that took place in Geneva.
The incident occurred as Dr. Asif Nazrul was about to enter the Geneva airport.
A video that later went viral on social media shows a group of individuals confronting Dr. Nazrul aggressively, chanting slogans such as "Joy Bangla" and "Joy Bangabandhu."
Kamrul, who was accompanying the law adviser at the time, allegedly remained silent and did not take any action to address the situation.
