BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the previous caretaker government and the current interim government are not similar. This government has come during a critical moment through the movement of students. Therefore, this government has to make reforms in various fields besides elections.
“We have to show patience and support the government to complete the reforms. All problems should be resolved through discussion rather than politics,” he said.
The senior leader of the party said, “Complete the reforms quickly and hold elections. Elections are the only way to restore democracy. Rule the country in your way without looking at other governments and hold elections soon after the necessary reformations.”
Mirza Fakhrul made the remarks today (November 12) while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament at the Shaheed Abul Kashem College field in Lalmonirhat.
He said, "The prices of daily essentials have skyrocketed. We have to pay attention to that. Besides, attention should also be given to ensure that no controversial person can join the advisory council of the interim government. People can now feel freedom after 17 years of misrule by the Awami League.”
BNP leaders and activists should move forward by cherishing the spirit of its founder Ziaur Rahman. The interim government should be careful that the cohorts of the Awami League can no longer raise their heads in the country further.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal, and former national football team player also Dhaka North City BNP convener Aminul Islam, among others, were present in the inaugural ceremony of the tournament.
