BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "For 17 long years, Sheikh Hasina and her allies have looted this country. We have fought against her throughout these 17 years, and most recently, through the uprising of students and the public, Hasina has fled the country."
On Friday, he made these remarks at Naya Paltan on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
During his speech, Mirza Fakhrul stated, "From now on, only democracy will prevail in Bangladesh. Although Hasina has fled, her allies are still hiding. We are ready to eradicate any malicious forces. We are united now and we will always be united in the future.”
The BNP Secretary General further said, "Today’s rally marks the great Revolution and Solidarity Day. Through this, we will demonstrate that the Nationalist Party (BNP) is the largest political force in Bangladesh. The Revolution and Solidarity Movement was led by Ziaur Rahman, the founder of multi-party democracy.”
Mirza Fakhrul talked about how Ziaur Rahman took the initiative to restore the country’s sovereignty on November 7, leading the Sepoy-Janata Biplob to liberate the nation.
His speech also touched upon the leadership quality of Zia's family members.
BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, joined the rally virtually as the chief guest prior to the march for National Revolution and Solidarity. Members of BNP’s Standing Committee were also present there.
