Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Hasan Arif said the government will very soon appoint full administrators at all city corporations in the country.
He came up with the information on Sunday after conducting a swearing-in ceremony of BNP leader Dr Shahadat Hossain as the new mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC).
Adviser Hasan Arif said the tenure of the new CCC mayor will be fixed as per the law.
He said the CCC mayor will have to take forward the expectations of the interim government which assumed office through mass uprising.
Hasan Arif said Dr Shahadat Hossain will have to fulfill the expectations of the city dwellers to build a discrimination-free society. He (The mayor) will have to elevate Chattogram as a green city.
He also urged people to remain alert about the dengue menace.
