Bangladesh Ambassador Abida Islam was awarded the prestigious "Museo Nacional de Historia-Castillo de Chapultepec" medal marking the 80th anniversary of Mexico's National Museum of History at Chapultepec Castle on October 30.
Presented with the ISVE Foundation, this honour recognized 12 ambassadors including Ambassador Islam, for their dedication to cultural diplomacy and contributions to preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
Abida Islam’s efforts, alongside those of fellow diplomats and museum professionals, embody the collaborative spirit uniting Mexico’s National Museum of History, the National Institute of Anthropology and History, and museums nationwide.
The ceremony held at the historic Chapultepec Castle, was attended by dignitaries and members of the diplomatic corps, including Alejandra Gómez Colorado, Director General of the National Museum of Mexico; Israel Guerrero, Director of the ISVE Foundation; and Salvador Rueda Smithers, Director of the National Museum of History.
Ambassador Abida expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour, reaffirming her commitment to deepening cultural ties and shared heritage between Bangladesh and Mexico.
She remarked that the medal symbolizes the enduring friendship and vibrant cultural exchange between the two nations, marking yet another milestone in their growing partnership.
