The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court has dismissed the case against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for the alleged killing of 42 individuals.
The order was issued today by Judge Ziadur Rahman.
The murder case was filed against Begum Zia and three others, accusing them of burning 42 individuals to death during the hartal and blockade called by the BNP-led 20-party alliance from January 5 to February 1, 2015.
The case stems from incidents where 42 people were killed by petrol bomb fires across the country during the anti-government movement.
The other three accused in this case are BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Emajuddin Ahamed (deceased), and former BNP Vice Chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury.
