The 48th death anniversary of Alhaj Advocate Abdus Sobhan, father of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, is being observed on Wednesday, reports Daily Sun.
Alhaj Abdus Sobhan, a renowned lawyer of the Supreme Court, died on August 9, 1975.
Also an educationist and social reformer, Alhaj Abdus Sobhan was born at Bancharampur in Brahmanbaria on January 21, 1901.
On the occasion of his death anniversary, Khatm-e-Quran and special prayers will be held at different mosques and madrasas across the country.
Khatm-e-Quran and special prayers will also be held at the grave of Alhaj Abdus Sobhan at Banani graveyard in the capital.
Relatives and well-wishers as well as people of the country have been requested to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
