Both India and Pakistan remain firm in their positions. The face-off between these two arch-rivals has led to complications regarding the future of the upcoming Champions Trophy.
With just over two months left until the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the governing body of world cricket, has yet to make a final decision regarding where the tournament will be held.
Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistani cricketer, feels that India is playing a major role in this and they are to be blamed for this situation.
According to Afridi, India is mixing politics and sports and this will have a negative impact on cricket in both countries.
On Thursday (November 28), Afridi wrote on social media platform X that the ICC should maintain neutrality. He also expressed support for the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) stance against the hybrid model.
"BCCI has mixed politics with the game, placing international cricket in an uncertain situation. I fully support the PCB's position against the hybrid model," said the former ace all-rounder for Pakistan
