A general diary was filed against the Bangladesh Nationalist Party central executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury for making provocative, false and fabricated statements on Facebook over the immersion of idols in River Buriganga during Durga Puja.
Keraniganj Aganagar Union Parishad chairman Jahangir Shah filed the GD with the police station on Thursday, said South Keraniganj police station officer-in-charge Mohammad Shahjaman.
Jahangir complained that there were some misunderstandings with the Rapid Action Battalion members on Wednesday over immersion of idols during the Puja and the issue was solved immediately.
Police said that, due to some misunderstanding and unwanted situation, immersion of idols was delayed for a few hours, but none obstructed the immersion.
