Lightning strikes kill 8 in Sirajganj

Lightning strikes killed eight day-labourers while they were working on a field in Ullapara Upazila of Sirajganj on Thursday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.  

Locals said the incident occurred at Matikora of Panchkashi Union under the upazila in the afternoon while the 8 day-labourers were working on the field.

Matikora Union chairman Touhidul Alam Firoz confirmed the matter to the media.
