10 gold bars seized in Benapole, 2 held

Two people were detained with 10 gold bars worth Tk 86.2 lakh at the Benapole border on Wednesday.

Members of Putkhali camp under 21 BGB Battalion nabbed the duo with a motorcycle and seized 10 gold bars from their possessions.

BGB 21 Battalion Commander Lt Col Tanvir Rahman said a team of Putkhali camp conducted a drive at noon near Ichapur Jame Mosque and detained Md Habibur Rahman, 29, and Aktarul Islam, 25, along with the gold bars.

The arrestees were carrying the gold bars in their pant pockets, he added.
