Iran’s military says it has struck a Ukrainian anti-drone system depot in the United Arab Emirates, alleging it supported US forces, Al Jazeera reported.
In a statement aired on state TV, the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters said: “As the hideouts of American commanders and soldiers in Dubai were targeted … a Ukrainian anti-drone system depot that was located in Dubai to assist the US military … was targeted and destroyed.”
The claim comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an unannounced visit to the UAE earlier on Saturday, where he said the two countries had agreed to deepen defence cooperation.
Meanwhile, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, says “Iranian forces targeted two locations where more than 500 US forces were hiding in Dubai with missiles and drones, inflicting heavy losses on them.”
In remarks carried by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, he added: “We had previously warned that the aggressive American army had fled and hidden outside its bases due to the powerful invasion of the armed forces and the destruction of its bases in the region.”
He added, “Trump and the leaders of the American military must realise that the region will turn into a graveyard for American soldiers and they will have no choice but to surrender.”
