The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) has revised gold prices in the local market, cutting the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 3,266 per bhori.
The new rates remain effective on Sunday.
According to a BAJUS press release, the price of 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 246,927 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 235,671 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk 202,020 per bhori. Gold of traditional method has been priced at Tk 164,521 per bhori.
The final price will be determined after adding the government-fixed 5 percent VAT and a minimum 6 percent making charge set by BAJUS, though the making charge may vary depending on design and quality of ornaments.
Silver prices have also been reduced. The price of 22-carat silver has been cut by Tk 350 to Tk 5,715 per bhori.
