The Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association has appreciated the government for increasing the price of fuel oil in the country's market. The organization's member secretary Mir Ahsan Uddin Parvez shared this information in a message on Saturday night.
He said, “We applaud the government for adjusting the prices in the local market with the increase in fuel oil prices in the world market. As a result, we believe that the tendency of fuel oil hoarding will decrease and there will be more transparency in sales.”
Earlier, in a message sent on Saturday night, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said that the government has increased the prices of diesel, kerosene, octane and petrol at the consumer level in the country in line with the increase in fuel oil prices in the world market.
According to the ministry's notification, the new price of octane has increased by 20 taka per liter to 140 taka, petrol has increased by 19 taka per liter to 135 taka, kerosene has increased by 18 taka per liter to 130 taka, diesel has increased by 15 taka per liter to 115 taka.
The new price will be effective across the country from today. The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said that as a result of the new price, all filling stations and distributors in the country will have to sell fuel at this fixed price from Sunday.
