Despite the ongoing global unrest following the onset of the Israel-US conflict with Iran, fuel unloading operations at Chattogram Port have remained unaffected. A total of 25 ships have successfully unloaded fuel at the port over the span of 22 days from March 1 to March 22.
Port Secretary Syed Refaet Hamim confirmed the continued smooth operations on Sunday.
He mentioned that fuel unloading had been completed from all 25 ships so far in March. Currently, LPG gas is being unloaded from a vessel arriving from Oman, while another ship carrying base oil from Thailand is waiting for unloading at the outer anchorage.
According to port officials, two more ships—‘Bick Barnaholm’ and ‘Morning Jane’—are en route to the port and are expected to arrive by March 25. Meanwhile, ‘LPG Sevan’, the vessel carrying LPG from Oman, is actively unloading at the port. The ‘AB Olivia’ ship, which brought base oil from Thailand, is currently anchored at Bravo Point in the outer anchorage, awaiting its turn to unload.
Despite the challenging global situation, Chattogram Port's operations have continued as usual, ensuring the steady flow of essential fuel supplies.
