Fuel is currently being unloaded from six vessels at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port, the port’s member (Harbour and Marine) Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah said.
Speaking at a briefing on Wednesday, Ahmed Amin Abdullah said the vessels are carrying LPG, LNG and other petroleum products.
He also informed that four more fuel-laden vessels are on their way to Bangladesh.
Commodore Abdullah said one of the incoming vessels is expected to arrive within the port’s territorial waters today, while two others are scheduled to enter on 12 March and 14 March respectively.
He added that all fuel-carrying vessels are being given priority berthing facilities to ensure smooth unloading operations.
All necessary measures have also been taken to ensure the security of the mother vessels stationed at the outer anchorage, he said.
