Gold prices have increased once again in the local market. The price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk3,266 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new price at Tk268,214 per bhori.
The new price came into effect from 10:00am on Tuesday, according to an announcement by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
BAJUS said the price increase was made due to a rise in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market.
In a statement, the association said the decision to raise the price was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring held on Tuesday.
