An Iranian drone strike targeted Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura oil refinery on Monday, triggering a fire, according to media reports and widely circulated social media footage.
Ras Tanura, located on Saudi Arabia’s eastern coast along the Gulf, is one of the kingdom’s main oil refining and export hubs, making it a critical component of global energy supply chains.
The reported strike comes amid escalating hostilities following U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday. Tehran subsequently launched waves of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, U.S.-linked assets, and sites in several Gulf countries hosting American military bases, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Iranian strikes have reportedly affected Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Inside Iran, the Iranian Red Crescent said at least 201 people have been killed and 747 wounded in U.S.-Israeli attacks since Saturday.
There was no immediate official confirmation from Saudi authorities on the extent of damage at Ras Tanura.
