The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) hiked the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,266 to Tk2,68,680 per bhori on Saturday night as global rates spiked following the outbreak of Iran war.
Weary global investors rushed to safe havens, prompting BAJUS to hike the rate for the second time within 11 hours.
The new prices come into effect from Sunday, BAJUS said in a statement.
As per the new rates, the price of 21-carat gold is Tk2,56,433 per bhori, price of 18-carat gold is Tk2,19,808, and traditional gold is Tk1,79,859.
