After dropping for two consecutive times, gold prices have risen once more, reports Daily Sun.
The price of top-quality 22-carat gold increased by Tk3,266 per bhori, bringing the rate to Tk258,824 per bhori due to a hike in the price of pure gold in the local market, reports Daily Sun.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting held at 9:30 am on Saturday (21 February).
As per the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk22,190 per gramme, and 21-carat gold Tk21,185 per gramme, read a press release signed by the standing committee chairman, Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk18,155 a gramme, while that of traditional gold at Tk14,860 per gramme.
New tariffs came into effect from 10:15am on the day, read the release.
However, prices of silver have also increased.
The price of 22-carat silver is now Tk575 per gramme, 21-carat Tk550, 18-carat Tk470, and traditional one is Tk350 per gramme.
