Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu on Thursday directed officials to carry out their duties with integrity, efficiency, and a strong sense of constitutional responsibility.
He made the remarks at a view-exchange meeting with divisional and district-level officials of Rajshahi Division at the Rajshahi Circuit House conference room.
Speaking as chief guest, the minister said, “I am a son of the soil of Rajshahi. We are colleagues; none of us is anyone’s boss. You are constitutionally entrusted with responsibilities — those duties must be carried out properly.”
Stressing equality before the law, he added, “Even if my own child violates the law, necessary action must be taken.”
Minu warned that negligence in duty would not be tolerated and emphasized that administrative activities must be conducted on the basis of integrity, competence, and merit. He also urged officials to adopt respectful behavior and a service-oriented mindset, noting that citizens expect justice and effective services from the administration.
To prevent public suffering during Ramadan, the minister instructed officials to take special preparations, including coordinated efforts in market monitoring, maintaining law and order, and ensuring smooth public services. He also called for strict enforcement of a “zero tolerance” policy against drugs.
The minister said Prime Minister and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is working tirelessly for the country’s development and that the announced 31-point agenda would be implemented in a coordinated manner under his leadership.
He further stated that in the post-election period, all government departments would operate within the constitutional framework and that the law would take its own course.
Highlighting development priorities, Minu emphasized canal excavation and tree plantation programs to accelerate regional progress.
The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Dr. ANM Bazlur Rashid and attended by senior administrative and law enforcement officials, who discussed field-level challenges and prospects. Participants expressed hope that the exchange would strengthen transparency, accountability, and coordination in governance.
