Jewellers have increased the price of gold by Tk2,216 to Tk2,61,040 per bhori due to a hike in the price of pure gold in the local market, reports Daily Sun.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a statement issued on Monday morning (9 February).
As per the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk2,216 per bhori to Tk261,040, effective from 10:00 am on Monday.
The 21-carat gold will cost Tk2,49,260 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk2,13,656 per bhori, while traditional gold has been set at Tk1,74,900 per bhori.
Notably, gold prices were reduced by Tk3,266 only a day earlier. However, due to volatile market conditions, prices of the precious metal have risen again within 24 hours.
