All scheduled banks operating in the country will be closed on February 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) on the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Elections and Referendum.
The Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department (SDAD) of Bangladesh Bank announced this information in a notification on Sunday.
It said that the Ministry of Public Administration, through a notification dated January 25, has declared February 11 and 12 as government holidays by executive order on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Elections and Referendum.
All scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh will be closed on those two days. This instruction has been issued under the powers vested in Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
The central bank has issued instructions in this regard and sent them to the managing directors and chief executive officers of all scheduled banks operating in the country.
