Chicken prices have increased while vegetable prices remained stable compared with last week in the capital’s kitchen markets.
Despite ample supply, all varieties of vegetables continue to sell at last week’s prices in city markets.
This was observed during visits to various kitchen markets in Mirpur 6, 11, 13, and Shewrapara on Friday.
In these markets, winter vegetables were sold at the same prices as last week. Beans ranged from Tk40 to Tk60 per kilogram, depending on the variety; tomatoes from Tk60 to Tk80, local carrots Tk40 to Tk50, radish Tk30 to Tk40, turnip Tk60, cauliflower Tk30 to Tk40 per piece, cabbage Tk40, and bottle gourd Tk60 to Tk80 per piece.
Among summer vegetables, yardlong beans were sold at Tk140 per kilogram, eggplant at Tk60 to Tk100 depending on the variety, taro stems at Tk80 to Tk100, bitter gourd at Tk70 to Tk80, okra at Tk140, taro root at Tk100 to Tk120, and ridge gourd at Tk80 to Tk100 per kilogram.
Green chillies were sold at Tk100 to Tk120 per kilogram. Papaya and sweet pumpkin were priced at Tk40 per kilogram, local cucumber at Tk100, and cucumber (khira) at Tk80 per kilogram.
Lemons were sold at Tk10 to Tk30 for four pieces, local coriander leaves at Tk100 per kilogram, and hybrid coriander leaves at Tk60 to Tk80 per kilogram.
Green bananas were priced at Tk40 for four pieces, ash gourd at Tk50 per piece, and capsicum at Tk200 to Tk220 per kilogram.
