Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Sunday visited the Uttara Export Processing Zone (EPZ), where he held meetings with local authorities to discuss issues related to the safety and security of Chinese enterprises operating in the area.
During the visit, Ambassador Yao met with the executive director of the Uttara EPZ Board and the officer-in-charge of Nilphamari Police, according to a Facebook post by the Chinese Embassy.
The discussions focused on strengthening security arrangements and ensuring a safe and stable operating environment for Chinese companies based in the EPZ.
Both sides exchanged views on practical measures to enhance cooperation between EPZ authorities and local law enforcement agencies to safeguard investments and maintain industrial stability.
During the visit, the ambassador expressed the importance China attaches to the protection of its enterprises and personnel abroad, while appreciating the support provided by Bangladeshi authorities.
Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all foreign-invested enterprises in the Uttara EPZ, emphasising continued coordination to address any concerns and promote a secure business environment.
