Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has deferred the decision to reduce interest rates on national savings certificates for six months.
The decision was endorsed on Sunday morning after a related file was sent from the Internal Resources Division and signed by the Chief Adviser.
As a result, the existing interest rates on savings certificates will remain in force.
Sources concerned have confirmed the development.
