The month-long 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 will begin tomorrow at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin is scheduled to inaugurate the event at 10:00 am.
Originally scheduled for January 1, the opening was rescheduled to January 3 following the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) confirmed that previously issued invitation cards remain valid for the rescheduled date.
This year’s fair features 324 stalls and pavilions, including 11 foreign participants. For the first time, an e-ticketing system allows visitors to purchase tickets online or on-site and enter by scanning QR codes.
Single-use plastics and polythene bags are banned. Visitors will receive jute bags at affordable prices through a JDPC and Ministry of Textiles and Jute initiative. The new Export Enclave “Best of Bangladesh” will showcase top products from seven export-oriented sectors, including leather, footwear, and light engineering.
A Bangladesh Square commemorates the Language Movement of 1952, the Liberation War, and July 2024 martyrs. Special zones for electronics and furniture, seating for senior citizens, two children’s parks, a cultural center, and a mother-and-child facility are included.
Products on display include textiles, machinery, carpets, cosmetics, electronics, furniture, jute, leather, sports goods, toys, handicrafts, processed foods, and more. On-site services include ATMs, medical care, blood collection, toilets, and a 500-seat cafeteria.
Over 200 BRTC shuttle buses will operate daily from key locations. Ticket prices are Tk 50 for adults and Tk 25 for children under 12, with free entry for freedom fighters, persons with disabilities, and July movement victims. Security includes police, RAB, CCTV surveillance, metal detectors, and round-the-clock fire service.
The Dhaka International Trade Fair, organized since 1995 by the Ministry of Commerce and EPB, aims to promote domestic products, boost exports, support production, and create employment opportunities.
