The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) expressed its deepest condolences on the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, Bangladesh’s first female Prime Minister and the second female head of government in the Muslim world.
Her remarkable leadership marked a defining chapter in Bangladesh’s modern history, breaking barriers and shaping the legacy of women’s leadership in South Asia and beyond.
“We remember her national leadership and democratic contributions in shaping the economy, education, and nation-building. Her resilience, empathy, and dedication to public service leave enduring lessons for the nation. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to her family during this profound time of loss,” said the AmCham President and Executive Committee.
