Adviser to the Ministries of Finance and Science & Technology, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the passing of former Prime Minister, veteran politician, and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, reports BSS.
In a condolence message, he said Khaleda Zia was a long-standing and influential leader whose contributions will be remembered as a remarkable chapter in Bangladesh’s political history.
Dr. Salehuddin noted that at various stages of state governance, she played a key role in upholding democratic values, freedom of expression, and constitutional continuity, despite facing numerous political challenges.
He highlighted her honesty, determination, and strong sense of responsibility while performing state duties, adding that her decisions on key national issues significantly shaped the country’s political journey.
Terming her death an irreparable loss to the nation’s political landscape, Dr. Salehuddin prayed for the eternal peace of her soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to her family, BNP leaders and activists, and her countless followers.
