Trading at Bangladesh’s two major bourses began on a bullish note Monday, with most company shares posting gains during the first hour of activity.
On the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX rose 63 points in early trading, while the Shariah-based DSES gained 13 points and the blue-chip DS30 index added 21 points. Of the 389 companies that traded in the opening hour, the majority saw their share prices climb, with 337 advancing, 30 declining, and 22 remaining unchanged. Turnover crossed Tk 300 crore within the first hour.
The Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) mirrored the positive trend, with its all-share price index climbing 69 points. Among 121 traded companies, 95 recorded price gains, 18 declined, and 8 remained unchanged. Turnover at the CSE exceeded Tk 9 crore in the same period.
Both bourses reflected strong investor participation at the start of the week’s second trading day, indicating renewed market optimism.
