In view of the decline in the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market, the price of this precious metal has been reduced in the domestic market in a single day.
The price of the best quality or 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) has been reduced by 1,353 taka. As a result, the price of one bhori of gold has now decreased to Tk 2 lakh 08 thousand 167.
The new price will be effective from Friday (October 21) according to the Bangladesh Jewelers' Association (BAJUS).
The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee met on Thursday and decided to reduce the price. This information was later shared in a notification signed by the committee's chairman Masudur Rahman.
Earlier, the price of gold was increased on October 20. This broke all previous records and the price of one bhori of good quality gold reached Tk 2 lakh 17 thousand 382.
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 1,353 taka to 2,08,167 taka. The price of a 21-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 1,307 taka to 1,98,696 taka.
In addition, the price of a 18-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 1,108 taka to 1,70,318 taka. And the price of gold per bhori according to the traditional method has been reduced by 944 taka to 1,41,648 taka.
Meanwhile, despite the reduction in the price of gold, the price of silver remains unchanged. The price of a good quality 22-carat single bhori is 4,246 taka, the price of a 21-carat single bhori is 4,047 taka. The price of 18-carat single bhori is 3,476 taka and the price of traditional single bhori is 2,601 taka.
