Stocks opened higher on Wednesday at both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), with most listed companies posting gains in the first hour of trading.
At the DSE, the benchmark DSEX index rose 46 points, while the Shariah-based DSES and the blue-chip DS30 indices each added 10 points.
Of the 302 issues traded during the opening hour, 232 advanced, 24 declined, and 46 remained unchanged. Turnover surpassed Tk 180 crore, indicating strong early-session activity.
The CSE also recorded a positive start, with its all-share index gaining 59 points.
Among 102 traded issues, 72 advanced, 18 declined, and 12 stayed flat. First-hour turnover at the CSE exceeded Tk 3 crore.
Both exchanges continued to show broad-based buying interest, signaling improved investor sentiment midweek.
