Miscreants have slit the throats of four members of the same family in Niamatpur upazila of Naogaon district. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.
The killings took place late Monday night in Bahadurpur village under Bahadurpur Union, sparking shock and concern in the area.
Mahbubur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Niamatpur Police Station, has confirmed the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Habibur Rahman (32), son of Nomir Uddin of Bahadurpur village; his wife Popy Sultana (25); their son Parvez (9); and their three-year-old daughter Sadia Akter.
According to local residents, neighbors noticed the door open after the Fajr prayers and entered the house, where they found the bodies with their throats slit.
The police were informed and later arrived at the scene. Locals suspect that the incident may have been linked to a dispute over land.
Popy Akter’s father, Moyazzem Hossain, said, “I want the death penalty for those who killed my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.”
OC Mahbubur Rahman said that police recovered the bodies of four after receiving the report and are currently investigating the matter.
