The members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in various areas across the country to keep the law and order situation normal amid the blocakade program called by BNP-Jamat. The members of Rapid Action Team (Rat), the specialized team of BGB, are patrolling the capital on Tuesday.
The Rat members have been seen to patrolling in front of the secretariat and its adjacent areas on Tuesday. .
Public relations officer of BGB Shariful Islam said, “The BGB has been patrolling important highways and spots in the country including the capital Dhaka since Monday night. Necessary number of BGB has been deployed across the country to control the law and order situation. Members of BGB's specialized Rapid Action Team (RAT) are patrolling in Dhaka."
According to BGB, they will work to prevent anarchy if movement or transportation of goods is obstructed. BGB has increased their operation especially in the security of highways and railways.
BNP has called a countrywide total blockade program from October 31 to November 2 in order to realize one point of demands. In addition, Jamaat-e-Islami, Ganatantro Manch, 12-party alliance, and like-minded parties as LDP, AB party and others also supported the blockade program.
