Bangladesh has rolled out a fully digital system for verifying educational and professional certificates, a major step aimed at reducing costs and simplifying procedures for citizens pursuing education and employment opportunities abroad, reports Bangla News24.
The development was announced via the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser to the Bangladesh government.
Under the new system, individuals can complete certificate verification and obtain internationally recognised Apostille certificates online through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This reform replaces the previously mandatory in-person visits to embassies and foreign offices—a process long criticised for being expensive, time-consuming, and inefficient.
Government estimates suggest at least Tk 700 crore could be saved annually if certificate verification were done online for Bangladeshis seeking higher education and overseas employment.
Officials believe the move will help combat fraudulent documentation by enabling secure digital verification.
Additionally, the system is expected to streamline the authentication process for those seeking education, employment, and migration opportunities abroad.
