Artificial intelligence is expected to transform nearly 47% of job roles in the United Kingdom by 2030, according to a new survey conducted by ThinkAutomation in partnership with Censuswide. The research, which surveyed 500 IT managers across the UK, highlights a growing consensus among technology leaders that AI will reshape—not replace—much of the modern workforce.
While the public often fears job losses due to automation, the survey suggests a more nuanced future: one in which AI will augment roles, enabling workers to focus on higher-value tasks while automating routine processes.
Howard Williams, Commercial Director at ThinkAutomation, emphasized that the goal of automation is to help employees work smarter, not to displace them. “By using AI to eliminate repetitive admin tasks, companies can save time, reduce costs, and allow skilled employees to apply their expertise more effectively,” he said.
Despite optimism, the study revealed significant barriers to adoption. More than 1 in 5 business leaders remain unconvinced of the cost-effectiveness of AI, with budget constraints and data privacy concerns cited as the top challenges. Additionally, 21% of respondents still believe AI is a tool exclusive to large enterprises, even though small and medium-sized businesses can benefit equally.
ThinkAutomation, developed by Parker Software, integrates advanced AI features such as natural language processing, predictive analytics, and intelligent data handling. Its clients include major organizations like NASA, Bank of America, and Cisco, though its flexible design is intended to support businesses of all sizes.
Williams stressed that AI has already transformed digital platforms including Google Search, Facebook Ads Manager, and Instagram, making its influence on professional workflows inevitable. “Automation today isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about building a future-ready workforce,” he said.
The report concludes that while 90% of UK companies have implemented AI in some form, a cultural and financial shift is still needed for widespread transformation. As AI continues to evolve, UK business leaders are encouraged to invest in education, scalable automation tools, and security-first AI frameworks to ensure long-term success.
