Just weeks after publicly warning about the dangers of AI deepfakes, U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has launched an audiobook narrated by an artificial intelligence-generated version of her own voice.
The seven-hour audiobook, titled "Melania — The AI Audiobook", was announced in a social media post on Thursday, reports AFP.
Priced at $25, the project features a digital replica of Mrs. Trump’s voice narrating her story, described in the promotional video as “my story, my perspective, the truth.”
The video showcases stylized black-and-white, computer-generated visuals of the former model but does not clarify whether the voice is hers or that of her AI twin.
"I am honored to bring you Melania — The AI Audiobook — narrated entirely using artificial intelligence in my own voice," Melania Trump wrote in her post. "Let the future of publishing begin."
According to the official website, the voice was developed “under Mrs. Trump's direction and supervision.”
Multiple foreign language versions are expected to be released later in the year.
The audiobook follows the October release of her physical memoir, which included a signed collector’s edition printed on premium art paper and priced at $150.
The move into AI-generated content comes just days after Melania Trump joined President Donald Trump to sign the “Take It Down Act” into law.
The legislation makes it a federal crime to share non-consensual explicit images, including AI-generated deepfakes.
In March, she had led a solo event in support of the bill, calling for greater protections against "malicious online content."
While the First Lady has maintained a relatively low profile in Washington since President Trump’s return to office in January, she continues to pursue selective, high-profile projects that tightly manage her public image and generate revenue.
In addition to the AI audiobook, Melania Trump is currently filming a documentary series with Amazon, under a contract reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars.
