China’s first AI-powered cardiologist is easing pressure on doctors at a busy Shanghai hospital, where demand for cardiac care is growing, reads a SCMP report.
Developed by the Fudan University-affiliated Zhongshan Hospital and the Shanghai Academy of Artificial Intelligence for Science, the system, named CardioMind, has been trained on decades of anonymised patient records, international research, and treatment guidelines. It analyses patient histories and test results before offering diagnostic suggestions.
The developers stress that CardioMind is not a substitute for human doctors but a tool to help them work more efficiently and with greater accuracy.
