WhatsApp has added another new feature for chat events. The company rolled out a feature to allow guests in chat events for beta users in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.17.
This feature allows users to indicate when responding to an event invitation that they want to bring an additional guest. This makes it easier for organizers to plan events because they get an idea of the number of guests coming. Now the instant messaging app is preparing to add this special feature for iOS.
WABetaInfo, the website responsible for tracking new features on WhatsApp spotted the upcoming feature in WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.3.10.74 available on TestFlight.
This has led to speculations that this tool could be rolled out at the end of this month or early next month. However, there’s no official information as to when this feature will be rolled out.
WABetaInfo released an image to demonstrate this new functionality as it exists for beta testing phase. Within this feature beta testers find an option that enables invitees to mark attendance status as single or with guests. Event creators who serve as beta testers can activate this feature to let RSVP participants choose between single attendance or joining with additional guests.
The new “Allow Guests” functionality appears in the Event feature of WhatsApp according to this visual illustration. With this capability users can invite others to events only when the event creator explicitly turned on this function.
To allow guests in an event the creator must enable this feature during creation because otherwise guests remain disabled.
Chat Event Guest represents a new feature of WhatsApp that expands event hosting possibilities by letting more individuals participate. Event organizers will obtain increased control authority over their platform events through this added feature.
