Google is developing a new feature that will allow users to trigger actions across various third-party apps.
According to a report by Android Authority, the feature will enable users to initiate a video call directly while messaging on WhatsApp Messenger.
The screenshot shared by the publication suggested that when the users message the individual users, they’ll find a video call icon in the top right corner which will let them get on a WhatsApp video call with the same person.
For example, if both the users have WhatsApp installed on their phones then the initiated video call will happen on the Meta-owned platform. If one of the users doesn’t have WhatsApp, then the initiated video call will happen on Google Meet.
According to the screenshot, the feature is currently available for single-user chat windows. Furthermore, the same will be integrated into group chats as well at the time of rollout for the stable version. The main reason behind the same is to let a large number of users adopt the same.
As of now, there are no details available related to the launch of the feature is not available. There are chances that we will soon get to see the feature in the beta version of WhatsApp. And once it clears the round and feels useful to the users, we can soon get to see the feature on the stable version of the application.
And that’s not the only feature WhatsApp is getting this year, as a lot of them are already in the pipeline. We can soon get to see a few more features making it to the stable version of the application for improved user experience.
